U.S. extends ban on flights over eastern Ukraine, Crimea by late Oct 2018

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Ministry of Transport of the United States have extended the ban imposed on December 29, 2014 on flights of U.S. airlines over Simferopol and Dnirpo, including all flight zone of responsibility in these areas, until October 27, 2018.

According to the report, the ban will come into force on October 27, 2016 and is extended due to the continuing unstable situation in the east of Ukraine. At the same time, the department noted that the ban could be revised or canceled in the event of changes in the situation.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Ministry of Transport of the United States extended the prohibition against certain flights in the Simferopol (UKFV) and Dnipropetrovsk (UKDV) Flight Information Regions (FIRs) until October 27, 2016.

The rule extended the prohibition against U.S. civil flight operations in the UKFV and UKDV FIRs of December 29, 2014.
