U.S. Congress says no aid to Azov Battalion

The U.S. Congress has decided that the financial assistance to be allocated for Ukraine this year may not be used by the Azov Battalion, that`s according to the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2017 (H.R.1301).

”None of the funds made available by this Act may be used to provide arms, training, or other assistance to the Azov Battalion,” reads the bill that has already passed the House and is placed on Senate Legislative Calendar under General Order.

Earlier, Washington aims to provide non-lethal military assistance to Ukraine in 2017 worth US$560 million, including no less than $238 million until October 1, 2017, that is until the end of the current financial year.
