U.S. Bunge launches $180 mln sea terminal at Ukraine`s Mykolaiv port

Agricultural company Bunge has commissioned a new oilseed production and transshipment terminal worth $180 million in the territory of the Sea Commercial Port of Mykolaiv.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
The construction costs of the facility are estimated at over UAH 4.84 billion. The project envisaged the construction of two units – an industrial complex for processing oilseeds and a transshipment complex.
The handling capacity of the facility amounts to 2.176 million tonnes per year, including 816,000 tonnes of bulk cargo (oil and byproducts, LLC ETSK), 1 million tonnes of grain cargoes (individual entrepreneur Chimtrans-Ukraine), 360,000 tonnes of raw oil (LLC Unitrans). The facility consists of a stock preparation and extrusion plant with a daily capacity of 2,400 tonnes with sections for husk and meal granulation, an extraction plant with underground tanks for hexane with a capacity of 3 to 65 cubic meters and a hexane drain platform to unload road tankers. It also features a cooling tower (cooling tube), storage tanks for raw oil with a capacity of 10,000 tonnes equipped with a pumping station and a piping system to supply oil at port`s berth No. 13 and load it onto vessels, drying and cleaning systems equipped with the headhouse and drying units, conveyor bridges, a 1,000 cu. m. underground tank for processed water with a pumping station, etc.
The transshipment complex includes reconstructed warehouses No. 8 and No. 9, a port with the elevator tower and aerial conveyor platforms, an unloading station, grain handling units to unload railway cars, a railway access road with railway truck scales, retaining walls; the outdoor storage area, the loading conveyor gallery along berth No. 13 with 1,200 tonnes per hour shiploaders for loading vessels with an estimated deadweight of 30,000 tonnes; open port area No. 11 with a total area of 8,047 square meters, etc.
