Twelve unnamed Ukrainian soldiers buried in Dnipro

Twelve unidentified Ukrainian soldiers who were killed in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone in eastern Ukraine were buried in Krasnopilske Cemetery in the city of Dnipro on Friday, November 11.

Representatives of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the clergy, civil volunteers and local residents attended the funeral, the administration`s press service told UNIAN.

Since the beginning of the ATO early in April 2014, a total of 281 unidentified soldiers have been buried in Dnipro. Data of their DNA samples has been included in the DNA registry. Following DNA testing of soldiers` relatives, 157 of the buried as unnamed have been identified.

Identification of other unknown soldiers is under way along with the search for their relatives.

Family members of those who have been recognized as missing in action could apply to local law-enforcement agencies for testing of their DNA.
