Turkish MFA on Mejlis ban: Crimean Tatars again tried to be intimidated, terrified

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey has called the ban of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people by Russian occupation authorities an attempt to intimidate the Crimean Tatars, according to Anadolu Agency.
Turkey`s Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the decision of the Russian court to ban the activity of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars, listed as an ”extremist organization.”
The Turkish Foreign Ministry stressed that the Mejlis was a legitimately elected body of the Crimean Tatar people, formed in a democratic manner on the basis of free will and thus reflecting the will of the Crimean Tatars.
Ankara called the court`s ruling to ban the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars the last link of steps aimed at disrupting the unity and integrity of the Crimean Tatars. It is noted that the pressure on the Crimean Tatars began to be inflicted after the illegal occupation and annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation.
