Turkey publishes agreement with Ukraine on travel with use of ID cards

The Resmi Gazete, the official publication of the Republic of Turkey, has published an agreement with Ukraine on travel of both countries` citizens with the use of ID cards, according to Chairman of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Maksym Sokoliuk.

”On May 20, the Turkish authorities officially published decision 2017/10324 to amend the mutual travel procedure and the recognition of the new form of (internal) Ukrainian passports (ID cards) as a travel document for Ukrainian citizens visiting Turkey. We are waiting for notification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the official date for [such] travel. I think [it will take] one or two weeks,” he wrote on Facebook late on Saturday, May 20.

Earlier, Ukraine`s Foreign Ministry said in March it expected that the Ukraine-Turkey agreement on mutual travel with the use of ID cards would become effective early this summer.
