Turchynov proposes creating inter-parliamentary groups to support Ukraine’s EU integration

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov has proposed setting up special groups to support European integration reforms in Ukraine.
He said this at a meeting with the leaders of the parliaments of European countries in Kyiv on Friday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“I propose creating inter-parliamentary groups at the level of the parliaments of our countries in order to support European integration reforms in Ukraine,” he said.
He said that this would help bring Ukrainian legislation into line with European standards.
“It would also be expedient to involve in this idea representatives of your states in the European Parliament, who could contribute to this work and represent Ukrainian interests in the European institutions,” Turchynov said.
