Turchynov no longer parliament speaker, Hroisman takes up his post

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov has resigned as parliament speaker.
He said this from the parliament’s rostrum on Thursday.
“According to the Constitution of Ukraine, I am terminating the powers of the Verkhovna Rada chairman and announcing the termination of powers of MPs of the seventh convocation,” Turchynov said.
He said that 418 MPs had currently been sworn-in and registered.
At the same time, Volodymyr Hroisman, as head of the group on preparing parliament meetings, occupied the speaker’s chair.
The temporary presidium of the Verkhovna Rada includes Andriy Parubiy (People’s Front), Yuriy Shukhevych (Radical Party), Oleh Lavryk (Samopomich), Oleksandr Vilkul (Opposition Bloc), and Andriy Kozhemiakin (Batkivschyna).
