The airport traffic control tower fell in the Donetsk Airport, spokesman for anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Leonid Matiukhin confirmed this information to BBC Ukraine.
Earlier, airlive.net website published a photograph from security cameras in Donetsk, at which the tower is not seen.
According to the ATO spokesman, the tower has fallen down because of shelling on Tuesday.
As reported by the ATO press center, the positions of Ukrainian military in the Donetsk Airport have recently been shelled . On Monday, the tower and the new terminal were fired with small arms, grenades, mortars, artillery and tanks.
