Tombinski: Ukraine must be first state to recognize “DPR”, “LPR” as terrorists

Ukraine should be the first state, which takes steps toward recognizing the “DPR” (Donetsk People’s Republic) and the “LPR” (Luhansk People’s Republic) as terrorist organizations.
Head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski has announced this on Monday during press conference in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“This issue [recognizing the “DPR” and the “LPR” as terrorist organizations] must be put into the framework of international law. That is why the first steps on this matter should be formally made by Ukraine, and then, in the event of approval by Ukraine, they should followed by the international community,” Tombinski said.
He also urged to leave this matter to politicians and not to speculate on different aspects of this problem. Tombinski recalled that on Thursday, January 29, the foreign ministers of the European Union will meet to discuss the recognition of the “DPR” and the “LPR” as terrorist organizations.
