Svoboda proposes tax scale “for army”

The Svoboda faction proposes a tax scale “for the army” for Ukrainians.
The Svoboda faction developed a draft law, which envisages a progressive scale of taxation of all citizens “for the army” until the end of 2014.
Svoboda faction leader Oleh Tiahnybok told a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We have developed the draft law No. 448-a, which envisages a progressive scale of the army tax that should be charged from incomes of all citizens. This is in case that the Cabinet insists on this. The one who earns UAH 2,000 – pays UAH 2, UAH 4,000 – pays UAH 40, UAH 5,000 – pays UAH 100… More than UAH 10,000 – pays UAH 300 every month from the wages until the end of 2014,” Tiahnybok said.
He also noted that such a taxation system may “ensure probability that there will not be a social fallout following the adoption of amendments to the Tax Code and the budget sequester.”
As reported by the agency, the Finance Ministry of Ukraine plans to introduce the military tax from incomes of natural persons to the amount of 1.5% of the wages.
