Ukraine`s State structures ”lost” UAH 2.6 bln in 2016 – audit

Ukraine`s State Audit Service in 2016 conducted nearly 2,700 financial inspections at more than 2,400 enterprises, institutions and organizations, revealing losses of financial and material resources totaling more than UAH 2.6 billion, as published on the agency`s website.

Budgets of all levels, public institutions, organizations, and enterprises have failed to receive due revenues in the amount of almost UAH 1.3 billion, including the budgets of all levels – more than UAH 440.2 million, according to the report.

More than 1,900 enterprises, institutions, and organizations recorded illegal and non-target costs and allowed shortages of material and financial resources in the amount of more than UAH 1.3 billion, including nearly UAH 780.4 million on operations with public funds.

It also reported that in 2016, state auditors forwarded to law enforcement agencies more than 1,400 inspection files, which led to 669 pre-trial investigations having been launched.
