Stanytsia Luhanska crossing point closed due to political reasons, not repairs: Russian militants get caught in lie

Deputy Chairman of the Luhansk regional state administration Yuriy Klymenko stated militants had closed a crossing point through a bridge in the village of Stanytsia Luhanska due to political reasons and not because of repairs.

It is noted that according to the official version the crossing point through the bridge was closed due to repairs of the wooden structure, which covers the damaged part of the bridge over the river Siverskyi Donets.

”As we expected, terrorists were not going to carry out any repairs of a dangerous area of the bridge. This is confirmed by people who have crossed from the uncontrolled territory in the village of Stanytsia Luhanska. Most likely, it was done due to solely political reasons: stirring up the situation around the establishment of demilitarized zones in Luhansk region. In addition, tomorrow the so-called LPR [Luhansk People`s Republic] is holding `primaries`, by this way, perhaps, they [militants] tried to consolidate potential voters,” Klymenko said.

He also added that the operation of the Stanytsia Luhanska crossing point was returning to normal. The passage was carried out in both directions.

As was reported earlier, on Saturday morning the militants suspended unilaterally the operations of the Stanytsia Luhanska crossing point but they were restored at 10:40.
