Social Policy Ministry: Emergency state won’t obstruct social payments

The decision to declare state of emergency in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine yesterday, will not cause the deterioration of social protection for the inhabitants of these regions. All the social benefits, including pensions, will be paid on time and in full.
This has been said by deputy social policy minister of Ukraine Vitaliy Mushchynin in exclusive commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent after briefing held on Tuesday in the Cabinet on provision of subsidies and compensations for housing and utilities services to the citizens.
“As for social protection in Luhansk and Donetsk regions, it has been in the state of emergency for many months,” Mushchynin said.
He said that there were no new guidelines on changes in the provision of social protection for the residents of two eastern regions.
In addition, the deputy social policy minister assured that the government would continue to adhere to its commitments to the socially vulnerable citizens.
“I assure you that all the benefits will be paid on time and in full. We have no arrears currently,” Mushchynin said.
