Slovakia helps Ukraine get rid of gas dependence on Russia – expert

Due to gas supplies via the reverse flow, Slovakia has helped Ukraine get rid of gas dependence on Russia, that`s according to Maryna Vorotnyuk, lecturer of the Comenius University in Bratislava, who commented on Slovakia`s presidency in the EU Council for the next six months,Ukraine Today reported citing the Ukrainian media.
”In fact, through providing reverse gas, Slovakia helped us stop being reliable on Russian gas,” Maryna Vorotnyuk said, according to Ukraine Today.
According to the expert, there is a ”golden age” in the Ukrainian-Slovak relations at the moment.
Vorotnyuk also said that during Slovakia`s presidency in the EU Council, no breakthrough, unexpected solutions should be expected.
”The presidency does not imply that the presiding country will shape the agenda with issues that will be completely new and not supported by the European community,” said Vorotnyuk.
