Shoigu wants to deploy ‘proper troop grouping’ in Crimea

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has said that there are plans to deploy “a proper and self-sufficient troop grouping” in the Russian-occupied Crimea, ITAR-TASS has reported.
“Deploying a proper and self-sufficient troop grouping in the Crimean direction has become one of the priorities. The military and political situation in the southwestern strategic direction has significantly changed since the beginning of this year,” Shoigu said.
He explained his decision by “the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine,” as well as the increased foreign military presence close to the Russian border.
