SBU says when Zaporizhzhia airport will be opened

Zaporizhzhia Airport will be opened as soon as there is confidence that aircraft are not in danger.
Spokesperson for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Olena Hitlianska said this at a briefing on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Today two airports are already operating. Once the aviation service is sure that planes at Zaporizhzhia Airport are not in danger, its work will also be resumed,” Hitlianska said.
She said that earlier airports had been closed due to the threat of the deployment of missile systems on the militant-controlled territory.
“This was done on the basis of information that was provided to SBU by a Defense Ministry unit, that today there is a great danger to aircraft. Therefore, it was decided to take preventive measures on the basis of the information that surface-to-air missile systems, in particular, Pantsir and others, are being deployed in Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” Hitlianska said.
As reported, on December 13, the State Aviation Service banned flights to Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia. The service said that the ban had been imposed due to security concerns.
