SBU chief: Though difficult to prove, Russian advisers play key role in Maidan massacre

SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak has said that the ”Russian trace” is the main version in the investigation of the killings of protesters on the Maidan.
”I think that the Russian advisers played a key role in this situation,” said Hrytsak.
”Now it is very difficult to prove,” said the security chief. ”But then, political leaders conducted regular consultations with the Kremlin and the Russian leadership.”
Hrytsak went on to say he was sure they had been given certain guarantees that they wouldn`t be left alone: ”And so it happened: everyone who is to blame for the executions of the people at the Maidan is in Russia now. And they are not being handed over to us. Isn`t this evidence of Moscow`s role or evidence of Russia having coordinated all these things?” he said in an interview with Liga.net.
”I am being criticized whenever I`m talking about the `Russian trace.` But it`s not a secret to anyone that the Russian FSB officers came to Ukraine and felt like home at the SBU HQ. After the Revolution, we have arrested Deputy Chief of Kyiv counterintelligence, who had been working in the interests of Moscow. Counterintelligence! It`s he who had to reveal the agents of the state, with which we are in an undeclared war. And he worked in the interests of Russia,” Hrytsak said.
