Savchenko asks Poroshenko to act more resolutely for her release

Nadia Savchenko`s lawyer Nikolai Polozov says that the Ukrainian captive pilot, who was convicted in Russia of killing Russian journalists in Ukraine`s east, has written statements for her lawyers to appeal in particular to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
”[Addressing] President Poroshenko, Nadia suggested that he should act more resolutely in talks over her release,” Polozov wrote on Twitter on Monday.
According to her, after she has been freed, there will be a chain reaction, which will trigger the release of other Ukrainian political prisoners from Russian jails.
According to Polozov, Savchenko also addressed to her supporters. ”She knows that there will be a televised call-in show with President Putin on April 14, and she asks them to raise one issue. Not about if she is freed or not, but when President Putin is going to return her home, to Ukraine,” the lawyer said.
Polozov said neither he nor his client was aware of her health condition because the results of medical checks conducted by Russia`s Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) on Monday were withheld from her.
”FSIN doctors have examined Savchenko, but they did not issue the results of the analysis and examination to Nadia Savchenko, her relatives, lawyers, and Ukrainian consuls, i.e., to anyone. There is no objective information as to Nadia`s health condition, other than what FSIN doctors told her. Currently, it is important to secure access to Nadia by independent doctors from Ukraine or Germany,” Polozov wrote on Facebook on Monday evening.
Meanwhile, Savchenko`s other lawyer, Mark Feygin, says that she will be hospitalized on Friday.
”Nadia is expected to be sent to hospital this Friday. So far, she has not given her consent to hospitalization, but we will be persuading her to agree to it,” Feygin told Russian media on Monday.
In case of hospitalization, she will be sent to a hospital in Rostov-on-Don, he said.
”It is highly likely that Nadia will agree to the hospitalization and that it will happen,” Feygin added.
