The EU and U.S. sanctions against Russia, along with falling oil prices have given their results, as the Russian economy is already paying a high price for its aggression against Ukraine. This will continue until Russia changes the course, deputy defense minister of Lithuania Marius Velicka said at the conference “NATO and Ukraine: Prospects and Opportunities”, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“EU foreign ministers agreed at the last meeting to uphold the sanctions against the Russian regime, and after shelling of Mariupol sanctions may be even more strengthened. I want to stress that the sanctions are not directed against the people, they are against the regime responsible for these actions,” Velicka said.
He noted that today Russia is isolated in almost in all major international formats, which refers to the events in Ukraine.
