Samopomich has not yet entered into talks on coalition – Sadovy

Samopomich Union, which, according to preliminary results of the Central Election Commission, is third in Ukraine’s early parliamentary elections, has not yet entered into any formal talks on the creation of a future coalition.
The leader of the party, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy, wrote this on his Facebook page.
“Samopomich has not currently entered into any formal negotiations on a coalition. However, we realize that Ukrainians gave a vote of confidence to a number of pro-Ukrainian and pro-European parties that should jointly seek common ground to address the pressing issues of the state,” he said.
He also said that Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk had phoned him after the elections. Later Sadovy personally met with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko at his invitation.
“When asked about the possible inclusion of Samopomich in the coalition, I said that such a decision would be taken jointly by the future faction and the leadership of the party,”Sadovy said.
He said that the decision on joining the coalition would be made on the basis of a number of principles.
“Samopomich will be discussing possible alliances in parliament solely on the basis of the tasks that should face a future government, not quotas. We are not interested in the quotas! We are interested in the opportunity to create a government of professionals who will think not about (their own and party) ratings, but about the tasks for which they were hired,” he said.
