Sadovy unwilling to work in Cabinet

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy has rejected an offer from the parliamentary factions of the People’s Front and Bloc of Petro Poroshenko parties to occupy the post of first deputy prime minister.
Sadovy wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“Right after the [parliamentary] elections, the president and I, in the presence of Mr. Yatseniuk, discussed the possibility of my appointment to the government. I clearly said that my current situation excludes it. At that time everybody took this with understanding. I am the incumbent Lviv mayor, bear full responsibility for the situation in the city until the end of my term and don’t have anyone to shift it on,” he wrote.
Instead, the city mayor proposed that Horizon Capital CEO Natalie Jaresko take up the post of first deputy prime minister.
“I propose that the status of first deputy prime minister in the future government be secured by the head of the economic unit and that this post be taken by Mrs. Natalie Jaresko, who is a co-founder of Horizon Capital. Despite the fact that she was born in the United States, she has been living in Ukraine for the last 20 years and she is a true patriot of the country and knows well all our realities,” Sadovy said.
