Russia`s 51st `humanitarian convoy` arrives in occupied Donbas

Russia`s 51st `humanitarian convoy` has already arrived in Donbas, having delivered another batch of humanitarian aid to Ukraine`s Donetsk and Luhansk on Thursday, according to Russian news agency TASS.
”More than 100 vehicles arrived in Donetsk and Luhansk. They brought more than 1,200 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, including foodstuffs, daily necessities, medications, firefighting equipment, books and educational materials,” the Russian Emergencies Ministry`s press service said, adding that there were no unforeseen situations on their way to Donetsk and Luhansk, TASS wrote.
Currently the vehicles are being unloaded in the presence of representatives of the local authorities who will later distribute humanitarian aid, including in the socially significant facilities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
After the unloading is completed, all vehicles will return to Russia`s Rostov region.
This is the 51st humanitarian aid convoy since August 2014. The Russian Emergencies Ministry reported it had earlier delivered to Donetsk and Luhansk more than 60,000 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, including foodstuffs, construction materials, medications and staple goods. Humanitarian cargo is collected by public organizations and trade unions, the administrations of the Russian regions, educational institutions and political associations on the basis of applications made by local authorities.
As UaPosition reported earlier, the Ukrainian side has repeatedly stressed that all freight coming from Russia in such convoys, which Moscow calls ”humanitarian,” entered the territory of Ukraine illegally, without the consent of the government, in violation of national laws and internationally accepted practices.
