Russian troops simulated attack on border with Chernihiv region

Russian military hardware on Tuesday simulated an attack on the border with Ukraine, opposite Chernihiv region.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Yesterday there was another provocation on the part of the Russian military opposite the Hirsk and Hremyach section of the border service in Chernihiv region. Several pieces of hardware defiantly approached the state border of Ukraine, deployed battle formations and simulated an attack, but then turned around and moved along the state border,” Lysenko said.
He said that Russian troops stopped and turned in just a few dozen meters from the border.
“That is there is psychological pressure and provocative action against our border guards and Armed Forces covering them. And, of course, the strength of the nerves etc. is necessary here. Our military endured that,” Lysenko said.
