Russian troops deployed in forests on border with Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions

A few kilometers from the border with Ukraine, in the Bryansk region, Russia has equipped a field camp of its armed forces with a large number of armored vehicles.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“A field camp of the Russian Armed Forces has been set up not far from the border with Ukraine in the Bryansk region. In particular, up to 30 armored vehicles have been deployed in a wooded area near the village of Stary Ropsk in the Bryansk region, ten kilometers from the state border,” he said.
Another camp with the same amount of equipment, according to the NSDC, has been deployed in a wooded area near the village of Lyady in the Bryansk region, three or four kilometers from the state border.
In a wooden area, not far from the villages of Churovichi, Zeleny Kut and Rudnya-Tsata in the Bryansk region, ten kilometers from the border with northern Ukraine, Russia military are equipping camouflaged firing positions of infantry fighting vehicles.
Lysenko also added that Russia continued to commit acts of provocation in close proximity to the Ukrainian border.
“In the border areas opposite Kharkiv region Russian military have deployed five armored personnel carriers, three tanks and other military equipment. For this purpose they have chosen the territory of the Svetlyachok children’s camp, on the outskirts of the village of Golovchino in the Belgorod region of Russia,” Lysenko said.
According to the latest information, there are about 500 Russian servicemen in the camp. Their number is constantly growing, he added.
