Russian troops attacked Ukraine 55 times in past 24 hours

Over the past day, combined Russian-separatist forces opened fire 55 times on the positions of Ukrainian defenders, according to the press center of the ATO Headquarters.

Most of the attacks were recorded in the direction of Mariupol where the enemy resorted to 28 provocations against the ATO forces, the press center reports.

In particular, the occupying forces shelled the Ukrainian positions near Pavlopilya and Starohnativka from large-caliber machine guns, grenade launchers, and small arms. In the areas of Talakivka, Taramchuk, Slavne, Vodiane, Maryinka and Krasnohorivka the militants fired 82mm and 120mm mortars. In Shirokyne the ATO forces were shelled from mortars and grenade launchers and fired upon from large caliber machine guns and small arms.

At the direction of Donetsk, 10 enemy attacks on the Ukrainian positions were recorded over the past 24 hours. Near the Butivka mine, the enemy used large caliber machine guns and small arms. In the areas of defense near Avdiyivka and Troitske, the Ukrainian troops were fired upon from 122mm cannon artillery caliber 122mm. Also the shelling continued from weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, from 82mm mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms.

In Luhansk direction,  there were 17 ceasefire violations by the enemy. In the areas of Novoaleksandrivka and Novozvanivka, the militant attacked the ATO forces from large-caliber machine guns, grenade launchers and small arms, while on the outskirts of Stanytsia Luhanska and Krymske – from 82mm and 120mm mortars  and weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles.
