Russian terrorists fired at Ukrainian positions with BM-21 Grad – ATO Press Center

ATO Press Center informs that on June 17, 2015, the situation in the ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation) area was difficult but controlled by Ukrainian units.

“Militants of Russian-terrorist troops made three attempts to break through Ukrainian defense in Marinka and in the Luhansk region. Our units have successfully repulsed the enemy’s attacks,” reports the ATO Press Center.

Over the past day, Russia-backed mercenaries opened fire at the Ukrainian army positions along the demarcation line for 79 times, using all available weapons. Actually, Russian terrorists used Minsk-banned artillery of 120 mm, 122 mm, and 152 mm caliber, and BM-21 Grad.

“The night in the ATO area was tense. 35 cases of shelling of the Ukrainian army positions were recorded,” informs the ATO Press Center.

In the Donetsk area, pro-Russian terrorists shelled Ukrainian positions near the villages of Khimik, Krasnohorivka, and Marinka with 120-mm mortars. Troitske at Artemivsk direction was shelled twice with howitzers of 152-mm caliber. In the same sector, Russian illegal armed gangs fired at Novhorodske and Nelipivka with mortars of various calibers.

“Overnight Russian terrorists used 82-mm mortars, combat vehicles, grenade launchers, and small arms to fire at ATO positions and residential infrastructures at all directions, ” notes the ATO Press Center.

In the Luhansk Region was less shelling. However, late at night, near the village of Sokilnyky (Luhansk Region) occurred a military clash between Ukrainian forces anf two enemy reconnaissance sabotage groups. The enemy suffered losses and retreated.
