Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Paruby during a questioning in the Prosecutor General`s Office of Ukraine informed the investigators about the direct influence of the Russian special services in the events in Luhansk region in the spring of 2014, as he told the reporters outside the office of the Department of Special Investigations of the PGO, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
”The main task and the essence of today`s conversation is that it was a conversation about the events at the beginning of the destabilization of Luhansk. As you know, I went to Lugansk when the regional headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine was captured, and for about a week, I was negotiating for the release of the premises and surrender of weapons by militants,” Parubiy said.
He noted that during the questioning, he told in detail of the information at his disposal about the ”Russian trace” in these events, about the immediate and direct influence of the Russian special services on these events.
Also, according to Parubiy, he told the investigator about the role of Viktor Medvedchuk in those events, as well as about the negotiations he was holding in that period.
Parliament Speaker expressed hope that the investigation and the prosecution would be able to inform the public about the course of said events, their organizers and executors.
As UNIAN reported earlier, before going in for questioning earlier today, Parubiy said that the investigators were interested in those involved in the events on the part of the then Luhansk authorities.
Rada Speaker also expressed hope that the Prosecutor General`s Office will forward the case to the court as soon as possible.
