Russian Sberbank in Ukraine introduces new restrictions on cash withdrawals

Russia`s PJSC Sberbank operating in Ukraine has introduced new, more stringent limitations for its clients on cash withdrawals, which have come in force today, March 16, according to the bank`s press service.

Restrictions are introduced ”in the context of illegal actions against the bank by third parties,” the report says.

New restrictions for legal entities:

– for cash withdrawal transactions from card accounts in the amount of UAH 20,000/US$750/EUR700 (depending on the account currency) per day on one card account;

– for any non-cash transactions from card accounts (including, but not limited to, transfers from bank cards, bank card settlements in trade and service networks, online payments, etc.) in the amount of UAH 30,000/$1,100/EUR 1,000 (depending on the account currency) per day on one card account.

New restrictions for individuals:

– for withdrawal of cash in national and/or foreign currency, as well as bank metals from current accounts of individuals through the bank`s cash desks in the amount of UAH 30,000 (equivalent in other currencies and/or bank metals) per customer per day;

– for any non-cash transactions (money transfers) and current accounts of individuals in the amount of UAH 30,000 (or equivalent in another currency) per customer per day;

New restrictions for card accounts:

– for any non-cash transactions from card accounts (including, but not limited to, transfers from card to card, person to person, bank card payments in trade and service networks, online payments, etc.) in the amount of UAH 30,000/$1,100/EUR 1,000 per day on one card account;

– for withdrawals of cash from card accounts in the amount of UAH 20,000/$750/EUR 700 (depending on the account currency) per day on one card account;

Payment (repayment) of registered deposit (savings) certificates for individuals is performed only through a client`s current account.

Limitations on card-to-card transactions have changed as well. The maximum daily amount should not exceed UAH 30,000, taking into account the commission.

The other limitations were left unchanged: the maximum amount of one transfer (including commission) is UAH 14,999, while the maximum amount of all transfers per month (including commission) is set at UAH 149,999.

It was reported earlier that Sberbank on March 15 had already imposed restrictions on cash withdrawals in the amount of UAH 30,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency through the bank`s cash desk per customer per day. The bank stated then that the temporary restrictions were caused by violation of cash collection schedules at subsidiaries/ATMs of the bank`s branch network.
