The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 70 times in the past 24 hours, using different types of weapons, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
In the Donetsk sector, the militants fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms on ATO forces near the villages of Luhanske, Pisky, Opytne, Nevelske, Verkhniotoretske, Kamianka, Bohuslavske, and the towns of Avdiyivka, Artemove and Svitlodarsk.
Violating the Minsk agreements in the Mariupol sector, the occupiers used banned mortars to shell areas near the village of Pavlopil, while self-propelled artillery systems were used to attack the village of Novotroyitske.
In the Luhansk sector, the Russian-backed mercenaries used grenade launchers of various systems to shell Ukrainian soldiers near the village of Triokhizbenka and fired small arms on the village of Stanytsia Luhanska.
”During this period, the Ukrainian troops fired back 19 times, using small-caliber weapons only,” the press center said.
