Russian FSB tries to recruit Ukrainian diplomat in Moscow

The Russian FSB Federal Security Service made an attempt to recruit Ukrainian diplomat in Moscow, the press center of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine told an UNIAN correspondent.
The Russian secret services approached the Ukrainian embassy worker via his classmate from a Military School, who today is a retired colonel of the Russian armed forces, according to the report.
The FSB pressed on the man, in order to force him to turn to the Ukrainian diplomat with a proposal for confidential cooperation. If the diplomat agreed, the Russian special services would resolve the issue of the privatization of property in the temporarily annexed territory of Crimea and contribute to his family`s transportation to the Russian Federation.
In case the Ukrainian diplomat rejected the proposal, the operatives threatened to ”create conditions for his son to be drafted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and be further deployed in the Donbas conflict zone.”
The SBU`s check has denounced such possibilities of the Russian FSB.
Following the instructions of the Ukrainian counterintelligence, the diplomat quit further contacts and discussions on the proposed ”cooperation.”
The SBU provided protection of his family and arranged his return to Ukraine, according to the report.
