Russian economy on brink – Ohryzko

The Russian economy is on the brink because of sanctions from the West.
This opinion was expressed by former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ohryzko on air of the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
“The Russian economy is on the brink, world oil prices are falling now, they are less than USD 98, if they drop by another ten dollars, this means that a huge sector of which Russia receives money will be closed for it,” Ohryzko said.
According to him, Russia is based on three pillars – oil, gas and metals exports. “If one of these three components is removed now, the Russian economy begins not just cough, but barely breathing,” the ex-minister says.
He expressed confidence that sanctions against Russia are in effect, and in the event of further Russian aggression policy, new restriction measures could hurt, in addition to the oil sector, the financial sector of the Russian economy.
