Russia threatens Ukraine with “measures” for Association in November

Russia is ready to take action in response for the entry into force of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in November this year.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti on Monday.
He said that on Sunday, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in its entirety will take effect from November this year. Meanwhile, Moscow, Kyiv and the EU allegedly agreed to delay full implementation of this document by January 2016.
“Russia proceeds from the agreements that were reached at the tripartite talks, while maintaining its position. Russia recognizes these agreements, but is ready to take action in response, if it (the full entry into force of the agreement) shall be in violation of agreements reached earlier,” Peskov said.
As reported by Ukrinform, President Petro Poroshenko in an interview with Olha Herasymiuk on air of the “1+1” TV program explained that the postponement of the economic part of the Association Agreement with the EU is actually advantageous for Ukraine, because in this way, the state is able to export without customs duties and import – preserving internal fees.
According to to the head of state, the Association shall take effect in full from November 1, 2014, and the matter does not concern any exceptions or postponment.
