Russia increases military presence in Ukraine and on border – NSDC

The increasing number of Russian troops has been recorded in the occupied territories in east Ukraine and on the border with Russia.
Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing on Thursday, Ukrinform’s correspondent reported.
“Nearly 60 armored vehicles have been moved from the direction of Rostov-on-Don to the areas bordering Ukraine in the past 24 hours. A train with 50 T-64 tanks and ten command and staff vehicles without any insignia has arrived at the railway station in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky,” Lysenko said.
He said that columns of military vehicles had also been sighted moving through the town of Molodohvardiysk in Luhansk region.
He said that the command of the Russian Armed Forces had placed some military transport aviation units in the Moscow and Ryazan regions on high combat alert. “This foresees the possibility of rapid delivery by Il-76s aircraft of additional units and military equipment to the border with Ukraine,” Lysenko said.
