“Russia has fired about 700 drones and missiles at the energy system of Ukraine since October 10. Of course, collectively, these attacks created serious problems: somewhere there are problems with the operation of power plants, somewhere – with the infrastructure. With each attack, the reliability of the power system of Ukraine does not improve, of course, so as a result, there is a need for restrictions on the supply of electricity to citizens,” explained the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Energy Committee.

However, despite the damage to 50% of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, the Kremlin was unable to plunge Ukraine into total darkness.

In addition, Andriy Gerus said that 98 energy workers died in 2022 while repairing damaged power grids due to Russian missile attacks on Ukraine.
