Russia bans imports of all confectionaries from Ukraine

The Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) suspended imports of all confectionaries from Ukraine from September 5, according to a statement posted on Rospotrebnadzor’s website.
“The Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare reports that as a result of state supervision over turnover of food products during checks on confectionary products from Konti and AVK (Ukraine), it recorded the violation of legislative requirements in the field of consumer protection (incompliance with the requirements applicable to product labeling). In order to guarantee the rights of consumers, Rospotrebnadzor is suspending the import of Ukrainian confectionaries to Russia starting on September 5, 2014,” the agency said.
