Retail trade in Ukraine up by 3.3% since year`s start

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine grew by 3.3% since the beginning of the year, as compared to the same period last year (in constant prices), to UAH 829.8 billion, according to the State Statistics Service.

The highest growth in retail turnover was recorded in Lviv and Kyiv regions – up by 7.6% and 6.9%, to UAH 49.2 billion and UAH 43.9 billion, respectively. The steepest decline in trade turnover was reported in Donetsk region – by 3.6% to UAH 27.6 billion, the statistics service said.

Retail turnover in the city of Kyiv rose by 3.9% in the period under review, to UAH 131 billion.

The data is calculated excluding the temporarily-occupied territory of the Russian-annexed Crimea and part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, retail trade turnover in Ukraine in 2015 shrank by 20.7% from 2014, to UAH 1.02 trillion, according to the State Statistics Service.
