Remains of all victims of Smolensk plane crash will be exhumed – Poland’s National Public Prosecutor`s Office

Poland is going to exhume the remains of all the victims of the Smolensk plane crash, except those who had already been examined by investigators.

A relevant decision was made by a special team of investigators of the National Public Prosecutor`s Office (Prokuratura Krajowa), headed by Deputy Prosecutor General Marka Pasionka, according to RMF FM.

Additional experts will be involved, according to the report. Press-secretary of the National Public Prosecutor`s Office Ewa Bialik told RMF FM that they had ”established contacts with renowned research centers in Europe to carry out additional studies and expertise.” But the centers and specialists have not been specified.

The prosecutor`s office does not disclose the lists and the sequence of the exhumation. However, according to unofficial information of RMF FM, at least four families have already been informed about such plans.

As reported by Radio Poland, the Smolensk special commission that is investigating the causes of the disaster of April 10, 2010 will meet in Warsaw today, September 13.
