Rada still could allow ATO soldiers to vote – Lutsenko

President’s Advisor Yuriy Lutsenko believes that the Verkhovna Rada at its extraordinary meeting could approve amendments to the election law, which will allow the military in the ATO area to vote.
He said on air of the Freedom of Speech program on ICTV, Ukrainska Pravda informs.
“I believe that literally in a day it is possible to convene the Verkhovna Rada session. I am convinced that if Batkivshchyna recognizes its mistake and votes for this law, we will be able to change the situation for the better; the President will immediately sign it, it will come into force and I am sure that the ATO soldiers will, at least, get a sign of respect for they do there,” Lutsenko said.
As reported by Ukrinform, October 20, people’s deputies failed including several draft laws into the agenda, which proposed to give a right to the ATO military to vote at the elections. The people’s deputies could not gather the necessary 226 votes a single time.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko considers irresponsible actions of those deputies, who did not vote for amendments to the law on the elections that ensures expression of will of the military in the ATO area during the elections to the Verkhovna Rada October 26.
