Rada may abolish non-aligned status in a week

The draft law on abolishment of Ukraine’s non-aligned status will be submitted for consideration of people’s deputies next plenary week.
Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Hroisman told a briefing, Ukrinform’s correspondent reports.
“Next plenary week, it (a bill on removal of the non-aligned status – Ed.) will be submitted and put to vote. I am convinced that it will have the majority of votes,” Hroisman said.
According to him, currently, there are no differences between the Cabinet, Verkhovna Rada and President on this issue.
He also stressed that until now an issue about removal of the non-aligned status was not raised in the parliament only due to availability of a number of reasons. In particular, the Speaker said that there were three alternative variants of this draft law, therefore it was necessary to form the unified variant and it had to be considered by concerned parliamentary committees.
