Rada chairman: Russia may step up military action in Ukraine at any time

Chairman of Ukraine`s Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy has said that Russia may intensify its military activity in eastern Ukraine at any time, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
”Russia may step up military action in Ukraine at any time,” he said at a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Council of the NATO-Ukraine in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Ukraine should be prepared to repel one of the largest armies on the continent.
Parubiy noted that to date, the quantitative and qualitative ratio of the Russian and Ukrainian armies ”is not in favor of Ukraine, and this makes us carry out the defense reform.”
”There is no other way for us,” he said.
According to Parubiy, Ukraine needs the support of NATO in security sector reform.
”Let in course of time, but Ukraine will undoubtedly become a NATO member state,” he said.
