Putin says agrees with Poroshenko on ”strengthening OSCE mission”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that the Kremlin agrees to arm the OSCE monitors in Donbas with small arms, according to an UNIAN correspondent reporting from a St. Petersburg Economic Forum.
”I agree with Petro Poroshenko with regards to the fact that it is necessary to strengthen the OSCE mission,” said Putin.
”To the point to allow the monitors of the OSCE mission to carry small arms,” the Russian president said
According to Putin, it is also possible to take other measures to improve security.
”But we cannot endlessly postpone addressing the key political issues, saying that not everything has been settled in this area [of security],” he said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the elections in the occupied territories of Donbas are only possible after the deployment of the armed OSCE police mission that will ensure security in the area.
According to Poroshenko, the security component does not simply mean that the parties cease fire, as it is not enough. ”Efficient observation posts should be installed along the contact line, which would guarantee the fulfillment of the security conditions. At the same time, appropriate posts of the international forces must be installed, which shall be located at the so-called weapons storage sites, and the appropriate posts – along the uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian border,” the president said.
