Prosecutor’s office questioning chief of general staff about events near Ilovaisk

Military prosecutor’s offices in Dnipropetrovsk are questioning the senior leadership of the Ukrainian Armed Forces regarding the circumstances and causes of the death of a large number of security forces in a “cauldron” near Ilovaisk.
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Vitaliy Yarema told this to reporters on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“In particular, [prosecutors are questioning] Muzhenko [Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko], Lytvyn [Head of the State Border Service Mykola Lytvyn] and the senior leadership of the Armed Forces,” he said.
According to Yarema, military prosecutors, including the chief military prosecutor, are in Dnipropetrovsk and questioning the leaders of these sectors.
“The military prosecutors are working in the sectors of the ATO, conducting research and questioning of the leaders of military units in terms of the circumstances of the death of a large number of Ukrainian troops in the so-called cauldron near Ilovaisk, clarifying whether these were objective circumstances as a result of Russian aggression or whether these were failures of military units,” Yarema said.
