Prodan says how to survive winter

Ukraine will be able to survive winter without Russian gas if the volume of reverse supply to Europe is reduced, and gas consumption is reduced in Ukraine.
Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan aired such conditions of warm winter for Ukraine on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“If we have reverse supply from Europe and depending on how we implement measures to reduce consumption, I think we can go through the heating season without Russian gas,” Prodan said.
According to him, 16.2 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped into Ukrainian gas storages. By the beginning of the heating season, these volumes have to exceed 17 billion cubic meters.
“We are preparing for a complex, hard winter. We have reverse delivery, we prepared a series of measures to reduce gas consumption – this job is partly to pass the cold season,” the Minister said.
As reported by Ukrinform, the volume of reverse supply of Russian natural gas from Slovakia decreased by 25%.
