The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 50 times in the past 24 hours, including 33 times in the Mariupol sector, 15 times in the Donetsk sector and twice in the Luhansk sector, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
In the Mariupol sector, the occupiers fired mortars on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Shyrokyne, Lebedynske, Chermalyk and Talakivka, as well as small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers on the Ukrainian fortified positons near the towns of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Novotroyitske, Berezove and Hnutove. The enemy also fired from infantry fighting vehicles and an anti-aircraft gun on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Talakivka and Vodiane.
According to the press center, in the Donetsk sector, the enemy fired grenade launchers and 82mm mortars on the positions of Armed Forces of Ukraine near the villages of Leninske and Verkhniotoretske. The situation was tense on the Svitlodarsk bridgehead, where the Russian-backed mercenaries fired heavy machine guns and automatic grenade launchers, and later mortars on our soldiers near the villages of Maiorsk and Zaitseve.
In addition to machine guns, grenade launchers of various systems and mortars, the enemy used self-propelled artillery systems to attack the Ukrainian fortified positions near the town of Avdiyivka. The enemy also fired heavy mortars on the Ukrainian positions near the village of Novoselivka Druha.
In Luhansk region, the illegal armed groups opened fire from automatic grenade launchers near the villages of Novozvanivka and Stepne.
