President expands rights of prosecutors in ??ATO area

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the special regime of pre-trial investigation in a state of war, state of emergency or in the ATO area.
The Presidential press service informs.
“The document entitles the regions (administrative territories), which have the legal regime of martial law, state of emergency, antiterrorist operation, in case of the failure of investigation judges to timely fulfill the authorities, to temporarily delegate them to respective prosecutors, who acquire additional procedural rights,” a statement reads.
This will improve the effectiveness of the law enforcement agencies during the ATO and promote more efficient execution of their tasks for neutralizing the terrorists and bringing to responsibility of their accomplices during the antiterrorist operation.
