President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko awarded (including posthumously) 229 military of different law enforcement structures, who became noted during the antiterrorist operation.
Relevant decree was published on the Presidential official website.
As noted in the document, the military are awarded “for personal courage and heroism, displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
All of them pass or passed service in the Armed Forces, at the bodies and subunits of the Interior Ministry and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The military are ordered by orders of Danylo Halytsky, Bohdan Khmelnytsky (III and II degrees) and “For Courage” III degree, as well as medals “To Defender of Motherland,” “For Military Service of Ukraine,” “For Meritorious Service” III degree.
42 heroes were awarded posthumously.
