Poroshenko`s office: Ukraine ready to further neighborly relations with Moldova

Deputy head of the Ukrainian president`s administration Kostiantyn Yeliseyev says Ukraine confirms its willingness to further develop good neighborly relations with Moldova, according to the presidential press service.

”The Ukrainian President has taken into account the results of the presidential elections in Moldova that took place on October 30 and November 13. We respect the choice of the Moldovan people,” Yeliseyev said commenting on the outcome of the presidential race in Moldova, the press service said.

Yeliseyev emphasized that positive dynamics of Ukraine-Moldova relations would directly depend on the willingness of the new leadership of Moldova to develop cooperation in respect for Ukraine`s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea and commitments to international law.

Yeliseyev noted that the Ukrainian party in turn would continue acting as a guarantor and mediator in the Transnistria talks, inter alia, through the intensification of the ”5+2” format.

”We reiterate respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders, including Transnistria,” he said.

”We also count on preserving efficient cooperation in the framework of the strategic course towards European integration,” he added.
