Poroshenko: We must ensure housing for sailors, especially those who left Crimea

On the Day of Naval Forces, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko congratulated sailors on the professional holiday and presented keys from newly built apartments.
The Head of State noted that the issue of social protection of military sailors was a top priority, especially as regards those who left Crimea and continue service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the president`s press service has reported.
This issue is pretty urgent given the fact that 600 servicemen live on the ships today, as stated by the President.
”I have instructed the Ministry of Defense to coordinate these efforts with the Ministry of Infrastructure. I think this decision will be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers shortly and two houses near the seaport will open dormitories,” the Head of State said.
The President informed that the program on ensuring housing for servicemen and their families would be launched soon. It will, inter alia, provide for the crediting system that will allow much more servicemen to have access to high-quality housing with great installment.
”For today, this issue is a top priority for the President, Prime Minister, Ministry of Defense and the entire Ukrainian government,” Poroshenko said.
