Poroshenko urges OSCE to promote ceasefire in Donbas tomorrow

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with Heidi Tagliavini, special representative of the OSCE chairperson-in-office as part of the trilateral contact group on the implementation of the peace plan in eastern Ukraine, the presidential press service has reported.
Poroshenko noted the important role played by the trilateral contact group and expressed hope that despite the end of the term of the Swiss chairmanship of the OSCE, Tagliavini would continue her important work. The Ukrainian president said that a meeting of the trilateral contact group should take place as soon as possible so as to achieve a ceasefire on December 9.
The special representative also announced her intention to remain a member of the contact group and continue her work. Tagliavini said that Minsk agreements, namely the Protocol of September 5 and the Memorandum of September 19, 2014, were the basis for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas and should be respected by all parties.
Poroshenko and Tagliavini agreed to coordinate further actions on the implementation of the peace plan in Donbas.
